Beer and Honey Barbecued Spareribs

Serves  4 Prep Time 20 minutes  | Cook Time 1 1/2 hours

Ingredients

Spareribs

3 lbs Pork spareribs
1 can Dark beer
1 Onion, quartered
3 ribs Celery, chopped roughly
2 Garlic cloves, peeled
Salt and pepper

Marinade

3 cups Beer
1 cup Honey
2 tbsps. Lemon juice
2 ½ tsps. Salt
1 ½ tsps. Dry mustard
2 tsps. Ground ginger
½ tsp. Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, add the first 5 ingredients. cover with water, bring to a boil and cook for 50 minutes.
  2. While the ribs are cooking, whisk together the ingredients for the marinade.
  3. When the ribs are done, drain and cut them into serving size pieces.
  4. Place the ribs in a baking dish. Cover them with the marinade and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight, turning regularly. Heat grill on the highest setting. Wrap the ribs in foil with a tablespoon of the marinade liquid.
  5. Place foil package on the grill and cook for 20-30 minutes, until almost done.
  6. Remove ribs from foil and finish directly on the grill until they are brown and crisp.
  7. Serve and enjoy.
