Braised Amsterdam Red Cabbage

Serves  6 Prep Time 5 minutes | Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

4 lbs. Cabbage
½ tsp. Sugar
½ tsp. Butter
1 tbsp. Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1 ¼ cups Ale
¼ tsp. Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Shred the cabbage coarsely.
  2. Melt butter in a deep skillet and sauté the cabbage for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, sugar and flour mixing lightly.
  4. Add the ale; cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve.
